Simply Betty Stamps February Challenge

The Challenge was to use non Easter colors, no pastels.  Hopefully my peacock inspired entry fits the challenge!  We could choose, sight unseen, either the male or female image to use on our card.  I chose the female as I figured using no pastels would be challenge enough without having to try my hand at making a masculine card, hehe.  Bunny Ears Judy has such dreamy hair!  I'm so pleased I picked the female image to work with!  I did however erase the skulls she had on her skirt.  If I'd kept the skulls on, I'd have had no one to send the card to.  Without, she makes a saucy Bunny to give to my Honey Bunny!

Hope you all are having a wonderful week!  Looking forward to catching up on all your blogs late next week!

CASE with Permission

Was in somewhat of a creative slump and a time crunch (more on that in a bit) and I needed a Sympathy card quickly.  Shannon, of Enchanted Ladybug Creations, had the perfect design!  Her card from April 10, 2012, which you can see here, was perfect for adapting to a Sympathy card.  And she has graciously let me show you my CASE of her card.  I changed the color from pink to blue, the flower from water lily to calla lily, and orientation from vertical to horizontal.  Thank you Shannon!

I'll be MIA for the week (this is on auto post), and part of next.  Cannot really say why at the moment because hubby and I are surprising someone.  Will tell you all about it in a couple of weeks!  And will look forward to catching up on all your blogs.  Until then, take care my crafty friends!

For You (#2)

I've been a huge fan of Bird's Cards, Free Digital Cutting Files, Digital Stamps, and More for quite awhile.  She has some AMAZING cut files on her website!  For those of you with an electronic cutting machine, you need to check out her stuff...you will not be disappointed!  Having limited space, I don't often drag out my Silhouette (yes, I know....bad crafter...), so when I do take the time to clear off my workspace and set up the machine, I like to cut multiple projects during the same cutting session.  I was cutting some bunnies for Easter cards and was wondering what else to cut (out of white card stock) when I remembered my stash of Bird's cutting files.  This rose pattern was so pretty, I had to try it.  Wasn't sure how I was going to assemble the card...use a digi stamp, stamp directly on the middle inset, add die cuts, use a sentiment, etc.  Hiding in my stack of recently colored images was this single rosebud.  Score!  While I had already penciled a circle around the image, I hadn't yet cut it.  After erasing the circle, I used a piece of acetate to determine where to cut a square around the image.  I stamped (yes, a real stamp, not digi, lol) a sentiment on the square, backed the square with coral card stock, added green card stock behind the cut out rose pattern, and the card was complete.

For You

The image used on today's card is a freebie (but not for much longer) from Imagine That.... digis by Kris which you can find here.  I'm playing along with her Progressive Freebie Challenge #1.  This is a versatile image which by changing the wording on the tag (yes, I did) you can adapt for many occasions.  I kept the colors soft on this card, not wanting to draw any additional attention to the blue bow (I made it a tad too dark).  And I used some of the new flowers one of my sisters gifted me with at Christmas.  Thanks Boo!  All in all, I like the ultra feminine feel to this card.

Simply Betty Blog Hop!

Whoo Hoo!  I am so excited!  This is my first time being part of a blog hop!  And I couldn't be happier to show you this fabulous image that was a part of Simply Betty Stamps' January Secret Release Burlesque!  It was so difficult keeping this sassy gal under wraps for a month. Introducing Betty Sweet Cake!

Don't you just love her!  What a fun image to use on a card for a husband, sweetheart, or even a saucy girlfriend.  There are six images in the release and they are all amazing (you can find them here)!  Truly fun, quirky images to add a bit of spice to your cards.  Sometimes you need to add a little playfulness to the cuteness.

If you are following the blog hop, you should have arrived from Dena's blog, The Unknown, Entertaining Mind of Miss Dena Jones, and your next stop is Jackie M's blog, apaperjem.  If you started with me, you can find the complete list on Betty's blog, Simply Betty Stamps.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all...family, friends, and crafty pals!  I hope your lives are filled with joy and friendship.  May today be a day to reflect on how fortunate we are to love and be loved.  This card is for my honey.  While it does not have a masculine feel to it, the colors are girlie like me, so I think he'll like it and the sentiment it expresses.  The image is Simple Valentine Stem by D2D.

Have a fabulous day, and please stop by again tomorrow when I'll be a part of a blog hop!

Happy Birthday!

It's Wednesday!  And past time for me to get this card in the mail!  Yes, I got a little behind in making birthday cards, but this one using Bugaboo Digi Stamps image Birthday Balloon Girl will be flying out the door today and winging its way across the country.  For the card design, I flipped the Some Odd Girl February Sketch counterclockwise.

My friend has been going through a rough patch lately, so I'm hoping the bright colors in this card will cheer her up, and bring a bit of sunshine to her day.

Thanks a Bunch

Today's card is an overdue Thank You for a special lady who hosted a scrumptious tea a couple of weeks past.  I used the Broken Box Stock image, appropriately titled, "thanks a bunch".  Doesn't she look adorable with the Pebbles Family Ties paper?  For the design layout, I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #280.

I followed the sketch pretty closely this time.  And am happy to enter it into their challenge.

Gotta run.  Need to finish a birthday card for another special friend!  See you tomorrow!

Luv U

Happy Monday!  Did you have a fun weekend?  Hubby and I celebrated Valentine's Day (gets too crazy on Feb 14th, so we celebrate early) with a fantastic dinner out!

Saturated Canary's Penelope and Posey was a joy to color!  When I first saw this image, it reminded me of Easters in my younger years when the Easter Bunny, aka Dad, would bring us live bunnies.  Oh how we loved those adorable little hopping bundles!  Never gave much thought to what happened to the bunnies after we played with them and cared for them for a few months.  And I really don't want to ask my parents now!  I want to believe they were taken to a nearby farm and given a proper home (that's what happened to my brother's rooster, Larry, who started out as an Easter chick).  Anyway, I digress.  Back on track.  This image is so sweet and one I will definitely color again!  I used the MFT Sketch 110, rotated, for the design layout.

Thank you for stopping by!

Clean and Simple

Even for me, this card is clean and simple.  But I love it!  The A Day for Daisies designs in the "I love" set lend themselves so well to uncluttered cards.  This image was my choice for a Mother's Day card.  I believe it will work equally well for either a mother to daughter or daughter to mother.  I wish the color of the blue in the photo was more true to life.  It is a deep turquoise blue, not a navy.  Oh well, until I stop buying new crafty supplies (yes, honey I'm trying to scale back, lol), a new camera isn't in the budget.  Maybe I'll try using the camera in hubby's smart phone next time!  It seems to take rather nice photos.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Another CASE Card

Another CASE card...by accident!  I did not realize I'd copied Amy's card until I was perusing old pages on her blog, A Thousand Sheets of Paper and spied her card using Blackberry Fairy.  Yikes!  Apparently her card made such an impression when I first saw it back in April of 2011, that I subconsciously re-created it (you can see Amy's card here)   Anyone else find themselves in a similar situation?

This image, along with her sisters, Blueberry, Blackberry, Strawberry, and Raspberry are favorites of mine!  Each little sprite has her own unique personality and the fruit that comes with them works well paired with them or alone on a card.  I'm hoping Amy will someday create additional fruit girls (maybe apples, pears, plums, lemons, etc.)...hint, hint, please, please!

Sending You Lots of Love

Today I'm playing along with Mojo Monday, using their sketch #279.  I rotated the sketch and had to change the bottom square to a rectangle and the scale of the pieces so the image would not spill over the top.  The image (#12) is a little freebie cutie by Sliekje Digi Stamps.  Angelique's images are so sweet and this bear is no exception.  I love the surprised look on his face as he's being whisked away by the balloons!

Altered La-La Land Crafts

Happy Monday!  As promised, no Dearie Dolls or Valentine image today.  For this card I swapped bodies and heads on two La-La Land Crafts stamps.  I used the body of Darling Marci and the head of Sweetheart Marci.  I adore those cute little doggy ears on Sweetheart Marci.  Wasn't sure what to sit her on so the rosebud came in handy.

 Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine Sweetie #2

TGIF!  And Happy 1st of February!  Gosh, has time flown by!  One month down already in 2013.  Today's card features another Dearie Dolls image (I promise I'll have some other images for you next week).  She's part of a boy girl set, but I cropped the boy out.  For the card layout, I used There She Goes Clear Stamps Sketch #191

Signing out until Monday!  Have a fun filled weekend!
